How to Download and Install ArgoUML for Windows
Introduction
ArgoUML is an opensource project that supports basic UML modelling activities. Since it is such a useful piece of software you'd think it would be very easy to download and install from its official website, but that isn't the case it seems that since the project is opensource there isn't an official site to get it from meaning you may have to download it from an untrustworthy. All that being said here is how to download and install ArgoUML.
Installing Java Runtime Environment(JRE)
Before you can install an use ArgoUML you need to install JRE on your PC here's how:
- Navigate to this URL: Download Java and click on the red button highlighted in the image below.
- Once the download is done click on the setup to install it and simply follow the steps on your screen. It will download some things and be done in a few minutes.
How to download ArgoUML
Once you have Java installed you can now procced with the following steps:
Navigate to this URL: Download argoUML , once you're there click on the blue download button to download the ArgoUML setup.
When the download is done click on the setup to begin the install and click on the next button in the installer.
On the second screen you'll see JRE and ArgoUML already selected and you'll be asked to select components to be installed, deselect JRE (since we already installed that earlier).
After step three simply continue with the process clicking next or install where appropriate until you get to the final screen where you can choose to start the app or just close the installer.
